Alina’s fantastical characters start life as objects in the space around her. She is interested in dissecting how mechanics and systematic entities invade space and overpower human compulsions. Alina’s technical proficiency in the precision of miniature painting, meets her improvised pen drawing creating a unique compositional equilibrium. Whilst influenced by the narrative quality of miniature composition itself, she is equally driven by the desire to represent society in an anecdotal, personal fashion.
Alina is a miniaturist, illustrator and photographer from Lahore, Pakistan. She graduated from The National College of Arts. She has worked as an Assistant Curator at the Pakistan National Council Of Arts and completed residencies at Green Olive Arts (Tétouan, Morocco) and the BQ Residency - 24/7 (Lahore, Pakistan).
