Zaina El Said

Zaina’s meticulously constructed digital colleges invite the viewer into a dreamlike space, outside of space and time. She is heavily influenced by regional Arab culture, folklore and Islamic geometry, yet the eclectic found imagery she uses creates an aesthetic that is uniquely her own. Surprising and surrealist narratives unfold, creating an atmosphere that the artist sees as “sublime timelessness”.
Zaina is based in Jordan and works primarily with collage and digital prints. Exhibitions include her solo shows ‘Tales in Frames’ at Ur Art Gallery in the Four Seasons Hotel, Amman (2016) and 'Legends & Heroes' in the Jacaranda Ar Gallery, Amman (2017). She has undertaken a wealth of commissions in Jordan, Egypt and London.
My art is… woven within a story of patterns, symbols, colours and symmetry
